Jason Yoon
Executive Director, New Urban Arts (NUA), Providence , RI
Jason Yoon has served as executive director of New Urban Arts (NUA) since 2008. In his time as executive director, the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities recognized New Urban Arts as one of the nation's 50 best youth arts programs, and the U.S. Department of Education selected NUA as one of 20 high school after-school programs in a national study of best practices. In 2009, Jason accepted a Coming Up Taller Award, an initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, on behalf of New Urban Arts at a White House ceremony. This is the nation’s highest honor for out-of-school time arts and humanities programs. Prior to NUA, Jason was director of finance and operations at the DreamYard Project (Bronx, NY). He also founded and directed 7ARTS, a youth arts program for teenagers at the Queens Museum of Art, and worked as development coordinator at the Explore Charter School. Jason has an M.P.A. in public and nonprofit management from NYU Wagner's Graduate School of Public Service, where he was a Carl Long Dean's Fellow, and earned a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design.
